What hope do we have to continue with the natural growth of becoming a more fulfilled continent, due to its nature, its culture, vis a vis the world...when there is such discordance with the united states and perhaps even canada, which don`t integrate any of the native views of the continent? and thus are numb the the brotherhood aspects of this continent?
Isn`t it important to recognize, at some point , the organic aspects of this continent? It was discovered .....by Europe...but was already real to the people here, a real place with real values that continue on today in the lifestyles and values of all ¨lATINAMERICANS, also known specifically as mexican, peruvian, chilean, panameñan, etc. an aspect to the identity clearly not evident int he mere name American USA gives itself. ¨.(it`s like , what does that mean? Liek france always calling itself Europe or something it woudl be weird. More htan anythign, kind of lame like, get a real name! right?)
In order to have balance inthe world, native cultures need to repsected and recognized. If at first they were not, i.e 500 yeas ago when the conquerors (as cxalled in spaniohs) or colonists (as caleled in Englis) arrived. That doesn`t mean that it msut stay that way. In fat,, in our increasing globalization, adn sensitivity to poepel and cultures, it is time to dial back aa bt and cotrrect osme of htat yuckyattitude of Europeans to Tha natives here. Ialso have a strong dislike tha thte values of Europe, called WEstern, also becasue of teh USA, include the American values (the coninetn). (This is also why the US a needs to quit callingthemselves the whole continent so that we can call ourselves our continent without constanly having to clarify- it is just ridiculous).
So I move that , just as the Far East is vastly different from the Middle East, in values and in geography, so should we distinguish The Middle West (Europe) and the Far WEst (-the American continent)..who in orignality has different values, spritiuality, land and thus outlook on the planet. This would also help us , in our quest to understand Islam, or the Far East, to be able to compare with our values , that are far more complex when looking into the Mayan and Aztec calendars as well as basic everyday belief systems of the people of this continet. In order to not just waste the whole continent by lumping it into Europe, alhtough it seems the USA likes it that way,becasue it ensures the coninuation of a European value based culture here and the ignorance (put best,) and exploitation( put more accurately) of the native culture. But unfortunately for them, this isn`t reality. Geography, people, that is reality. And perhaps eventually teh USa willa cutally come to lie this relaity as well. I don`t mean to put it past them. I jsut mean, at face value this will probbaly sound atrocious to some more racist parties in the USA. It is funny, tea partiesrs wan to go back to values ....little do tehy know this is really teh values we need to go back to!!!
The values of the American continent, just like China, India etc, can be known. This process, as a self-conscious one, vis a vis the world, has been ocurring perhaps since the times of Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, and Presidnet LAzaro CArdenas. Also, teh Mexican REvluiton of 1910 brought to the consciousness ideas of equality , adnt he non-exploitation fo the natives.
